Dirty Draws: The Greek Loves - 22/02/2024

A life drawing art session focusing on artistic freedom and exploring the queer experience through (crass) art exercises. The aim is to play and create through absurd briefs that we hope will make you giggle. High concepts, low brow - like soiled lace undies or lambrini in a crystal goblet.

Come and join us for a steamy little life drawing class, where we explore the many different types of passions the Ancient Greeks gave name to. From Playboy/girl/they bunnies to bunny boilers , you’ll have a few giggles as you brush up your skills to sketch someone like one of those French girls.
 
We have generously been offered the use of @vividprojectsuk . This 2nd floor venue is fantastic space with projectors & spot lighting, and refreshments offered, but bring a jumper if chilly. Unfortunately there’s currently no lift access, but please let us know if you have accessibility issues and we’ll try and see if they can be accommodated.

Your hosts are @girthofvenus (he/they) and @elthrush (he/him). We are both artists working in Brum - Maz is a digital illustrator specialising in queer reshaping of mythology, fairy tale and lots and lots of body hair. Luke works mostly in pen&ink, exploring themes of queer ecology, liminal spaces and hyperreal pen work.

Instruction will be given during the class, materials will be supplied but you’re welcome to bring your own tools should you like. Tickets are £15 with concessions available.
