 For their 2026 Birmingham Pride window, the New Street barbers wanted a design that celebrated the diverse communities and intersectionality of Birmingham.

When the city hosted the 2022 Commonwealth Games, we were called in to design a window that would not infringe on the Games’ stringent promotional rules whilst also drawing attention and celebrating this cultural landmark in time.

Choosing to celebrate the athletes themselves rather than the Commonwealth Games (which has problematic colonial connotations) we incorporated the image of a sprinter dramatically moving across the window pane with ‘Welcome Athletes’ on the corner to draw attention.
